Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
VEPTSA adheres to the following Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statement:
Every member and partner of Viewlands Elementary PTSA (VEPTSA) has a role to play in diversity, equity and inclusion, and a contribution to make to ensure everyone in our community feels safe and welcomed. Our unique culture is the result of our behaviors, our personal commitment, how we collaborate, and how we courageously share our perspectives while encouraging others to do the same.
We are a diverse community, composed of unique individuals, and we celebrate how our diversity allows us to grow stronger. Our inclusive culture empowers us to belong, connect, and grow. We draw on these differences, these experiences, and use them to help support our students and community.
The commitment to our whole community extends to after-school enrichment classes. VEPTSA, volunteer chaperones, and enrichment providers are equally committed to these DEI goals and the welcoming inclusion of all students as a fundamental part of our work together.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available! To request a scholarship, email enrichment@viewlandsptsa.org
Scholarships are available based on financial need. To request a scholarship, fill out the Scholarship Request form and email it to enrichment@viewlandsptsa.org or return it to the school office as soon as possible. Eligibility will be verified with a “yes/no” provided by school administration; no financial information will be shared with VEPTSA. By applying for a scholarship you accept that administration will communicate this “yes/no” to VEPTSA.
Additional details:
- Scholarships are available on a first come/first serve basis.
- In the event there are more requests than scholarships available, priority goes to 1) families that have not received scholarships previously, 2) families of older students, then 3) random selection.
- Scholarships are not guaranteed.
There is no preference for siblings.
Scholarship availability may change during the year. - Scholarships are limited to one scholarship per student per school year (not calendar year).
Cancellations
Enrollment cancellations are not accepted after the first enrichment class of the trimester. Enrollees assume the risk and financial responsibility should they not be able to attend one or more classes.
To request a cancellation prior to the first enrichment class of the trimester, contact enrichment@viewlandsptsa.org. We will work with the enrichment provider to refund the enrollment fee.
Individual classes may be canceled due to the enrichment provider being unable to hold a class (e.g., due to illness), the physical space being unavailable, or other reason unrelated to the enrollee. In these situations, refunds for the classes not held will be provided to the enrollee if no makeup class is scheduled.
Medical Emergency
In the event that your student experiences a medical emergency while attending the program, the class provider or VEPTSA volunteer may contact emergency services. By enrolling in a VEPTSA Enrichment program, you give permission for your student to have necessary medical treatment while they are attending the program.
Changes to Attendance or the Pick-up Plan
Notice of any changes to attendance or your student’s pick-up plan must be given at least one day in advance. This provides a minimum amount of time for key people to be notified, including the class provider and VEPTSA volunteer, and is necessary for the safety of your student.
We need chaperones! Volunteers receive a 50% discount. Learn more -
If you can volunteer as a chaperone for Tuesdays or Thursdays please email us to let us know. Volunteers that commit for the trimester will receive a 50% discount on enrichment enrollment (discount provided as reimbursement)!
