Our Give Big campaign is a crucial fundraising effort, supporting programs and positions vital to the school’s success. From classroom initiatives to essential lunchroom and recess staffing, your contributions directly shape the experience for our students at Viewlands.

We are thrilled to share that Chuck will once again offer a $5k match at Chuck’s Hop Shop Greenwood, officially kicking off our Give Big fundraiser!

Give Big & Winter Drive

This year we are combining Give Big and our annual Winter Drive! December break is fast approaching, signaling a long break from both school and the essential services it provides. The Viewlands Winter Drive helps by providing grocery gift cards and new books to Viewlands families in need. We kindly request your support to purchase grocery store gift cards for 66 Viewlands families. Your contribution can make a meaningful difference during this break. Invite your friends, family, neighbors and community to support as well.

GIVE BIG GOAL: $15,000

The funds raised through our annual Give Big campaign directly contribute to this year’s school budget, addressing challenges posed by the budget shortfall and ensuring essential staff and services continue to thrive. Your support is instrumental in sustaining the community we cherish at Viewlands Elementary.

Give Big for Viewlands fundraising goes towards supporting:

Staff position funding: $13,500

• Playground and Lunchroom Monitors: Supporting the vital presence of monitors during play and lunch times, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all students and giving teachers an essential break before resuming classes.

Teacher & Classroom Support: $11,000

• Teacher Grants: Providing financial support for teachers to enhance classroom activities and projects.
• Classroom Field Trips: Enabling students to participate in educational experiences beyond the classroom.
• Student Testing Snacks: Offering snacks during testing to ensure students have the necessary energy and focus.

Student Support – Enrichment, Advocacy, Family Assistance Programs: $4,000

• After-School Enrichment: Provide financial assistance for students in need to access and participate in after-school enrichment programs.
• Hunger Intervention Program & Orca Cares Closet: Supporting families experiencing financial difficulties through our partnership with weekend food supplies (HIP Program) and our on-site closet with essential hygiene and clothing items (Orcas Care Closet).
• Advocacy: Supporting initiatives and programs that advocate for student education and well-being through Advocacy groups, Washington State PTA, Seattle Council PTA, and CANSSPA (Central and North Seattle School PTA Alliance.
• Student Equity and Diversity: Supporting equity and diversity groups within our school community.

All School Events, Community Events: $3,000

• Community Events: Sponsoring community building events including Movie Nights, Orca Cup Soccer, Kindergarten Playdates, Gradeband Playdates, and more.
• In-School Event Support: Supporting events such as School Opening, Field Day, and 5th Grade Graduation to enhance school spirit and shared school events and activities.

Academic Enrichment and Intervention Support: Art, Library, Resource: $2,000

• Art Room Supplies, Library Supplies: Ensuring that students have the necessary materials for creative expression and reading.
• Resource Support: Aiding intervention staff in providing additional support to students with specific learning needs.

Staff Gifts & Appreciation: $1,000

• Welcome Back to School, Valentine’s Day, Staff Appreciation Week: Expressing gratitude and appreciation for the hard work and dedication of school staff.
